North Carolina State University, Graduate School, Office of International Programs Records 1966 - 1991

The records of the Office of International Programs include reports, publications, meeting minutes, and other general records. The first international student at NC State University matriculated in 1893 and there were no special facilities or services for international students until the early 1960s. When the number of international students grew large enough and student immigration regulations became complex enough, the University formed an International Student Office (ISO) as a unit in Student Affairs. In the spring of 1996, the ISO was merged with the scholars branch of the Office of International Programs, was re-structured and re-named, and placed in Academic Affairs.
